"The Genius State"

In last month's newsletter I talked about the state of flow, this month I want to expand on this concept and talk about genius. What is your mental image of a genius? An Einstein or a Mozart?
The Greek Philosopher Aristotle said; "There is no great genius without a mixture of madness".
What do you think about genius? Is it a compliment or a curse?

The genius state when applied in context is a powerful state to operate from and is available to anyone who wants to train their mind. Examples of where you might like to have a genius state would be for presenting to an audience, writing, selling, negotiating, graphic design, marketing etc.

Accessing your genius states begins when you start asking certain questions:

• For what task would you like to be able to access genius?
• What are the characteristics of genius?
• To what degree have you already accessed your own personal genius?

The qualities of a "genius" state involve focus, clarity, commitment, engagement, lost in the moment, at one's best with all of one's resources available, "in the zone," experiencing "flow," etc. Because such states are very focused, we need to protect them so that we don't contaminate them, dilute them, or reduce them.
