Attitude Express
Attitude Express is a fun and interactive game that improves group communication. The game involves each player answering questions that reveal how they communicate and would like being communicated with. By listening to the responses, those playing the game learn how to improve communication with each person as well as identifying differences in the way each participant communicates.
Objectives of Attitude Express
- To have fun
- Build team dynamics through enjoying a fun game together
- Increase interaction and honesty between colleagues in a non-threatening environment
- To learn about how colleagues view communication
- Receive feedback on how you communicate
- Learn to listen to each other
- Evaluate how effective participant’s communication is
- Identify areas of communication that need to be improved
Each player takes it in turns to pick out a card that has a question about communication on it, such as “What do you think makes a good boss?” The player answers this question honestly and all other players rate the answer according to how if they felt the answer was accurate, appropriate and honest.
The game continues until a designated time period has been completed and then the players scores are totaled and the player with the highest score wins.
If a player is taking too long to answer a question or is being uncooperative, other players can award a ‘dinosaur’ and when a player receives a designated number of dinosaurs they must stop talking and play continues as usual.
Players can also award ‘Demons’ to those being disruptive and this will deduct 9 points off their score card.
